Dominion Resources and Partners form Atlantic Coast Pipeline, LLC | Russell T. Rudy Energy LLC
Dominion Resources will form a joint venture with its partners to build a $5 billion pipeline. The Partnership will be called Atlantic Coast Pipeline, LLC, and will be owned by Dominion (45%), Duke Energy Corp. (40%), Piedmont Natural Gas Co. (10%) and AGL Resources Inc. (5%).
The partnership is proposing a 550 mile pipeline to carry natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica Basins in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio, to customers in Virginia and North Carolina. Throughput of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day is anticipated. Dominion already operates 8,000 miles of interstate pipeline in six states.
Dominion is currently determining the best route for the pipeline and will seek approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and hopes to begin construction within the next two years.
