The Foundation was created to honor the memory of Seargant Patrick Williamson, who gave his life in service of his country. The Patrick Williamson Foundation raises money to purchase and modify vans for severely injured and disabled veterans returning from their service in Afganistan.

Patrick’s Story

Patrick grew up in Lafayette and attended St. Cecilia’s Elementary and St. Thomas More High School.  After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Louisiana, Patrick enlisted in the Army and ultimately served in the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.  On October 27, 2009 Patrick was killed in the Arghandab Valley, Afghanistan when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED).

To honor Patrick’s memory and further serve his community and country, Patrick’s mother, Sybil Williamson, established the Patrick Williamson Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization (www.patrickwilliamson.org ).  With no paid staff and no overhead, all net proceeds go directly to well deserving designated beneficiaries.  In addition to providing wounded warriors with vehicles customized to their individual needs, the Foundation has funded scholarships at Patrick’s alma maters.

Russell T. Rudy Energy, LLC is a proud supporter of the Patrick Williamson Foundation, and welcomes you to join us in honoring his memory and life service. Thank you again Harold for your hard work and efforts in support of this important organization.
