In an interview with “Rigzone”, Magnolia Petroleum’s Chief Operating Officer, Rita Whittington, reported that Devon is going to drill eight wells per unit on their joint acreage in Oklahoma. These wells will exploit both the Mississippi Lime and the underlying Woodward formation.
Magnolia sees this as the logical extension of the same strategy which is being employed in North Dakota. There, eight wells per unit are being drilled to concurrently exploit the Bakken and the deeper Three Forks Spanish formation.
